The Snowdrop

The Snowdrop is the first sign of new life and in the Language of Flowers has a meaning of Hope and Consolation.
It is a sign that the winter is fading away and the hope that Spring is around the corner and will soon be with us.......

"I have come to calm your fears; to console you in the absence of bright days and to reassure you of their return"

The Victorians would give a gift in the shape of a Snowdrop to a friend
who had suffered a loss...to give them hope and consolation.....

The meaning of flowers was a popular Victorian way to show your feelings and send messages

New Year New Start

Happy New Year everyone and all the best for a good, creative and fun year to come.. for me it is all about starting my demonstrating career as a qualified demonstrator.  With plenty of bookings already this year I am going to be very busy,  starting off in February at Barton Flower Club then a full calender right through to September... got to say that passing the dreaded test in November and going into this as fully qualified has made a huge difference to me and I am raring to go!!..

Keeping me busy up to then is my garden, my lovely pooch Poppy and not to mention him indoors!!...  Sympathy work which is sad for all the families but as a designer it is a real honour to create a lasting , personal tribute for their loved ones and a side of the work I really enjoy..... Day workshops planned for the coming seasons so watch this space for dates and times etc..
Lots to look forward to.... not to mention the 100 Tulips I planted last year that should be poking their heads through sometime soon... pics to follow of them and it should look really pretty x

Have a good start to 2013 x
